Box of Hearts - 1972

Sculpture

wood, unexplainable key ring and cherry

Dimensions: 9.5” x 19.25” x 4.5”

Collections: artist (add to cART)

I think I made this piece for Jean as a present. Working at the Vancouver Art Gallery provided a lot of opportunities to see and handle artworks but more importantly meet other artists. I came to know Tom Graff and Gathie Falk quite well. As a matter of fact, I built all the wooden cases for Gathie’s Single Right Men’s Shoes. She funded my acquisition of a table saw (which I still use) and no doubt used to build this enclosure for these hearts and a pear.
