Just playing around. I think even then I was beginning to realize the importance of play. That is getting your head into a space where unlikely connections can happen.

I think this is the first time a rock appears in my work (de Gaulle is concrete). Rocks have and continue to be a material I look to. This small gesture very much in the spirit of Dada amuses me now. I do love the cracked “G”.
