As usual - what starts out to be a simple project grows and expands as the possibilities and opportunities make themselves known.

This website is a case in point. Our original idea was to make a list of the works I had made. This proved to be harder than we expected. This site is largely due to my associate McAlister Zeller-Newman’s searching for images and descriptions. In his search he found many pieces I had forgotten or was reluctant to include. An example would be much of the work I made as a student. I did not think it really contributed but McAlister was persistent and started adding these works. As the site grew I started to see the threads and connections between these earlier works and what I am producing now. As Laurie Anderson put it “same song, different words”.

In documenting the work we decided we needed expanded captions as many of the pieces were time-based or there was viewer interaction. In some cases we opted to use other author’s descriptions as they were more informative and succinct.

In some cases I wrote the descriptions but things again got away from me and I started to include anecdotes. I started playing. At this point the doors really swung open. Why not keep adding notes and stories to the descriptions (of course dating these contributions) hopefully keeping the site fresh and lively. Then McAlister suggested why not let you the reader/viewer add your thoughts and experiences.  (see Add to Story - Your Turn).

We also  thought let’s be really brash and open an online shop - yes sell stuff (isn’t that what the internet is good at). To that end we added (add to cART).

My criteria for engaging in any project these days is “Am I having fun and/or am I learning something.”

We are having fun and I am learning lots.

We hope you are enjoying yourselves.

Many  thanks to all the individuals who have helped, supported and responded to my endeavors.

I think it goes without saying. I am playing here.
